What type of adhesive should I use?

When should I use adhesive to install my corner guards?
Generally speaking, glue or adhesive should be used whenever you need a permanent or heavy-duty installation. Adhesive is a universal installation method that allows the user to make small adjustments during the install due to its long cure time. It is easy to administer and creates a strong bond on any wall surface.
Clean wall surface and apply two beads of 1/8” adhesive to each wing.
Position corner guard on wall and move around slightly to spread adhesive, then remove the corner guard from the wall for one minute to “air”, which speeds drying. Then reapply to the wall.
For installation over vinyl wall coverings, follow the above instructions; however, since the adhesive will not adhere properly to the vinyl, cut away a small strip of the vinyl under each wing of the corner guard to allow access to the wall surface.
Place the corner guard on the wall at the desired location and mark the hole locations on the wall with a pencil.
Remove the guard and drill screw holes at each mark.
Wipe down the wall to remove and dust or plaster.
Place the guard back on the wall at the desired location and attach to the wall with screws supplied by the factory.
After the corner guard is installed, remove the protective covering.
